Visual Mathematics

Visual mathematics is the conceptual and educational focus for the activities that take place on Enzymind.

What is visual mathematics? Concisely, it is the graphical representations of quantitative processes. Examples include the representation of equations and complex data as graphs or in symbolic forms. Alternatively visual mathematics can involve the interpretation of images or symbols in terms of algorithms or equations.

The key feature of visual mathematics is the use of images to communicate and represent complex processes in a way that is as easy as possible to understand. The motivation for this approach is the need for tools and methods to help people find ways to deal with being overloaded by information. Information overload is increasingly a way of life and the intent of this project is to assist people in making more effective use of their information and knowledge. Please see the Enzymind Project Proposal for a detailed explanation of the method for doing this.
