For most of September I was in Portland playing the open mic circuit in that area.

Overall it was a good learning experience.

I played out a total of six times when up there. I tried to play more but either the lists were full or other hindrances prevented this. 

While I was up there I wrote a brief essay about the experience of performing at an open mic event.
