Riff rough

The other day I was playing in down town Eugene and made a brief recording of what I was doing with my digital camera's microphone. Just an improvised riff.

It turned out to have kind of a cool sound in that it picked up a nice snare effect with me slapping on the guitar, the little amp I was using was breaking up with a natural distortion, and the whole thing got severely compressed probably due to the cameras auto gain control. The feel of the groove was just real good and tight. Trying listening to just the kick or snare parts alone.

I may use some of these lo-fi 'tricks' for future recording projects to capture more of the funky groovy drummy style that I've been working at developing for the past few years.
