Finally got around to processing some video
Rare clip where I play with another musician:
More Human than Human at Mulligans with Larry on the African drum on July 2.
You Wreck Me at the Axe and Fiddle where there was no sound from my guitar on July 22.
My set at a place that I had not played before, World Flavors, on July 29;
And then I've been sort of distracted with getting a vehicle ready to do some road traveling to play music in Portland and the Bay Area that I did not get out to play again until August 27 at World Flavors. This was a Beatles and Bach set; some highlights: (the camera was further away than usual so the sound is low and the video is poor)
I updated my performance history list too. I've made 91 live performances since I've been playing music more seriously starting one year ago in August 2007. I think once I get a solid repertoire of mostly original music I could play 3-5 times per week if I am able to develop a good tour scheduling system. That's the goal if I was to hit my musical stride. That would be 150-200 times per year...For now I'm going to focus more on recording and songwriting and shoot for playing out about once a week.
I still have some tendinitis pain in my left index finger and I seem to have developed early stage carpel tunnel syndrome as I've been waking up with the classic three finger numbness caused by median nerve compression. These injuries are disheartening and I think they may be a consequences of the more repetitive and physically demanding elements of the classical music that I play. Maybe this will motivate me to move towards further developing my looser right hand centric percussive original technique and song writing which is my primary ambition...and/or using digital looping more so I don't have to play as much
